Fernando has a Bachelor degree in Philosophy and Science from the Free Institute of Philosophy and the University Iberoamericana in Mexico City. He also received a Bachelor degree in Technical Journalism from the School of Journalism Carlos Septien Garcia in Mexico City. He studied Non Violent Conflict Resolution at the Cooperative Institute in Panama focused on Ludopedagogy and Creative Interculturalism.
Fernando has an extensive experience in working with organizations in the development of learning processes and the creation of educational materials on development and human rights since 1977. He is also a designer, photographer and an Illustrator. He has been a Professor of Philosophy at the Faculty of Theology at the Rafael Landivar University in Quetzaltenango. He was the Director of Outreach Research at the ECOSUR Center in Chiapas, Mexico.
