Elizabeth Soto was born in New York City. She is Ivorian of Ecuadorian origin. She is currently the Deputy Secretary General of United African Congress, a member of the 1,000 African Women Network and on the Advisory Board for the Ambassador of Sierra Leone in Washington D.C.
She graduated from High School and is currently in College to obtain her degree in Public Policy and Administration. She has won several awards for her work in Cote d'Ivoire such as the Peace Ambassador award from the Universal Peace Federation and the Sustainable Development Goal Champion Award from AgroBiz. She was also named Goodwill Ambassador for the Folon Region in Cote d'Ivoire by the President of the Conseil Regional of Folon. She is a Senior Secretary in NYU’s Department of Otolaryngology and has been an employee for the Medical Center for 20 years.
She is fluent in Spanish and French and somewhat fluent in Dioula. She was a member of the Marcory Association in NYC and represented the association during the Ebola crisis. She traveled to Sokorro a village in the Folon region of Cote d’Ivoire to bring medical supplies. She recently traveled to Manadoun, another Folon village to bring medical and school supplies. She is currently working on a program for villages in Sierra Leone where she will give classes to the village women about hygiene and raise funds for medical centers, schools, and libraries.
